Star Wars Episode 3 – The wait is over for me
My wait to see Star Wars Episode 3 ended last week. As an avid Star Wars costumer, and a member of the 501st Stormtrooper Legion and the Rebel Legion I was fortunate to be invited to participate in the local charity premier. Lucas himself was in attendance as well as several celebrities.
The event was held at the Sony Metreon in San Francisco, with a post movie party in Buena Vista Gardens next door. Ticket prices started at $500. There was a red carpet as expected to welcome the guests, but there was also a black carpet laid down to represent Anakins final turn to the dark side and transition to Darth Vader. 🙂
I had a blast at the event, and was luck enough to be interviewed a few times and ended up on local TV, and quoted in several newspapers (from an Associate Press news story.)
The hightlight of the event of course was getting to see the movie. Overall I was pleased with it, but am reserving judgment until I see it at least once more.
